A.J. Ramsey is a dynamic and expressive German American soprano based in Boston, MA, known for her versatility and magnetic stage presence. A recent graduate of the Longy School of Music of Bard College, A.J. is passionate about using opera and theater to create shared experiences and foster connection across diverse communities.A.J. has brought vivid life to a wide array of roles, including Charlene in Service Provider, Isabel in The Pirates of Penzance, Snout in the East Coast premiere of Michael Ching’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Fox in Rachel Portman’s The Little Prince, and Leonora in Dan Shore’s The Beautiful Bridegroom. A.J.'s commitment to storytelling extends beyond opera; she has also appeared in musical theater and straight plays, including Sondheim on Sondheim and Alan Ball’s Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, showcasing her strong comic instincts and theatrical flexibility.A.J. holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Towson University and a Master of Music from Longy, and continues to build a career that bridges genres, styles, and communities.
